I. Introduction
An APEC Engineer is defined as a person who is recognized as a professional engineer within an APEC Economy and who has satisfied an authorized body in that economy and who has satisfied the IES Monitoring Committee that he/she has met the criteria set by the the APEC Engineer Coordinating Committee to have:
a) completed an accredited or recognised engineering program, or assessed
recognised equivalent;
b) been assessed as eligible for independent practice in Singapore;
c) gained a minimum of seven years practical experience since graduation;
d) spent at least two years in responsible charge of significant engineering work;
and state at least 2 years detailed working experience in report format and
e) maintained a continuing professional development at a satisfactory level.
f) to submit documentary evidence of participation in CPD at professional engineering
level for the period under review.
II. APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)
The ABTC cuts through the red tape of business travel, and gives frequent business travellers pre-cleared entry to participating APEC economies.
There are 21 economies currently participating in the Scheme: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, PNG, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand and Vietnam. Card holders enjoy:
• Fast-track entry and exit through special APEC lanes at major airports, and
multiple short term entry to these economies for a minimum of 59 days stay each
visit (click here for details).
• No need to individually apply for visas or entry permits each time you travel to any
of the participating APEC economies as the card is your visa.
• Cards are valid for three years from first issue.
Canada, the Russian Federation and the United States are currently Transitional Members of the scheme, which allow cardholders from all participating economies to use 'fast-track' immigration lanes (currently designated for air-crew) at major international airports.
Please note: Cardholders will still need to present valid passports and visas if required by existing United States and/or Canadian law, although expedited visa interview scheduling will be provided to APEC Cardholders at United States and Canadian embassies and consulates in APEC economies in cases where a visa is required for the Cardholder to travel to the United States and/or Canada.

Please enclose a copy of your PE Certificate pertaining to the year renewed and a documentary evidence of participation in CPD at professional engineering level for the period under review together with the renewal form along with a cheque to be crossed and made payable to 'IES'
